Hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi, Salem Alhazmi, and Khalid Almihdhar obtain US visas through the US Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. [US Congress, 7/24/2003] All three are already “al-Qaeda veterans” and battle-hardened killers. Almihdhar’s visa is issued on April 7, and he thereafter leaves and returns to the US multiple times until April 6, 2000. (#1)
